The operators of Australia's Olympic Dam Uranium Mine (known to hold 35% of the world's uranium) are exposing employees and contractors to unsafe levels of radiation, according to a whistleblower from inside the company.
The allegations, being made via Greens Member of Parliament, Mark Parnell, include purposefully reducing test results by manipulating the samplying methods used.
If true, the cause of radiation exposure could be as a result of inadequate ventilation in the smelter process, working people in prohibited areas or exposure to contaminated airbourne dust.
